Chapter 12 — Witnessing: Witness Everything Within Yourself

September 25, 2026By SIHULK5 min read

After this entire journey has been explained, the final question is no longer:

“How much have I memorised?”

But:

“WHAT HAVE I WITNESSED WITHIN MYSELF?”

The Quran says:

وَفِي الْأَرْضِ آيَاتٌ لِّلْمُوقِنِينَ ۝ وَفِي أَنفُسِكُمْ ۚ أَفَلَا تُبْصِرُونَ

“And on the earth are signs for those who have certainty. And also within yourselves. Will you not then see?”

— Adh-Dhāriyāt 51:20–21

Notice:

وَفِي أَنفُسِكُمْ

“and within yourselves.”

Therefore, not all signs need to be sought far away.

Some of them occur:

WITHIN YOURSELF.

⸻

1. THE RUH CAN BE WITNESSED THROUGH ITS FUNCTION

Do not wait to see the Ruh as though it were smoke.

Observe what happens:

information arrives,

feelings are formed,

attributes are manifested,

the qalb processes,

af‘al occur,

records are formed.

All of this shows that human beings are constantly within:

THE FLOW OF AFFAIRS.

Therefore, the Ruh is not understood through form.

The Ruh is understood through:

THE FUNCTION THAT IS TAKING PLACE.

⸻

2. THE ANGELS CAN ALSO BE WITNESSED THROUGH THEIR FUNCTIONS

Jibril:

truth arrives.

Mikail:

sustenance is experienced.

Israfil:

breathing continues.

Malak al-Mawt:

the connection with the physical body ends.

Munkar:

questions arise.

Nakir:

pressure arises because there is no answer.

Raqib:

good deeds are remembered.

‘Atid:

unresolved wrongdoing continues to weigh upon the self.

Malik:

torment is experienced.

Ridwan:

blessing and tranquillity are experienced.

Therefore, the angels do not remain merely as:

NAMES TO BE MEMORISED.

But rather:

FUNCTIONS TO BE WITNESSED.

⸻

3. WITNESSING BEGINS WITH NEGATION

Shahadah begins with:

لَا

negation.

Rejecting what is untrue.

Rejecting assumptions.

Rejecting false images.

Rejecting inherited understandings that have never been examined.

Rejecting what is merely followed without evidence.

Then comes:

إِلَّا

affirmation.

Affirming what has become clear.

Therefore, Witnessing moves through:

NEGATION → AFFIRMATION

not:

memorise → repeat → follow.

⸻

4. DO NOT STOP AT THE TEXT

The text is extremely important.

But the text is a doorway.

Its purpose is:

TO UNDERSTAND.

Then:

TO WITNESS.

For example, the Quran mentions:

قَلْب

Do not stop at the word “qalb”.

Witness how the self:

accepts,

rejects,

understands,

doubts,

becomes certain,

becomes tranquil.

The Quran mentions:

مَلَائِكَة

Do not stop at the names.

Witness their functions.

The Quran mentions:

رُوح

Do not stop at an imagined form.

Witness its flow.

⸻

5. TRUTH MUST BECOME CERTAINTY

Allah says:

إِنَّ الظَّنَّ لَا يُغْنِي مِنَ الْحَقِّ شَيْئًا

“Indeed, assumption is of no avail against the truth.”

— Yūnus 10:36

Therefore, the human journey is:

ASSUMPTION
↓
QUESTIONING
↓
SEARCHING
↓
EVIDENCE
↓
WITNESSING
↓
CERTAINTY

Do not stop at:

“people say.”

“the ustaz says.”

“the book says.”

“I heard.”

Search until the self can say:

“I UNDERSTAND AND I WITNESS.”

⸻

6. JIBRIL BECOMES THE KEY TO WITNESSING

Within the chain of angels, Jibril brings:

TRUTH.

Truth breaks assumptions.

Truth answers Munkar.

Truth calms Nakir.

Truth prevents Malik from taking hold.

Truth opens Ridwan.

Therefore:

JIBRIL → TRUTH → CERTAINTY → TRANQUILLITY

That is why the entire chain returns to:

TRUE FACTS.

⸻

7. THE SELF WILL READ ITSELF

Allah says:

اقْرَأْ كِتَابَكَ كَفَىٰ بِنَفْسِكَ الْيَوْمَ عَلَيْكَ حَسِيبًا

“Read your book. Today, your own self is sufficient as an accountant against you.”

— Al-Isrā’ 17:14

Who reads?

THE SELF.

Who recognises the profile?

THE SELF.

Who knows what has been done?

THE SELF.

Therefore, Witnessing is not something that can be transferred to another person.

No human being can witness on your behalf.

⸻

8. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL MAHSHAR TO WITNESS

Human beings can begin now.

Ask yourself:

Why do I believe this?

What is the evidence?

What have I personally witnessed?

What remains an assumption?

What do I still not understand?

What questions remain unresolved?

Every question answered now reduces conflict later.

Therefore:

WITNESSING BEGINS DURING LIFE.

⸻

9. LIFE = AN OPPORTUNITY TO CLEAN THE PROFILE

As long as breathing continues:

you can still learn.

you can still search.

you can still ask.

you can still change your perspective.

you can still repent.

you can still forgive.

you can still correct.

Therefore, do not be afraid of discovering mistakes.

A mistake that has been recognised can still be corrected.

What is more dangerous is:

BEING WRONG BUT REFUSING TO EXAMINE IT.

⸻

10. A CLEAN PROFILE IS NOT A PROFILE WITHOUT A HISTORY

A clean profile does not mean that a person has never been wrong.

Human beings learn through:

wrong,

right,

falling,

rising,

doubt,

certainty.

What matters is:

WHAT IS THE FINAL STATE OF THAT PROFILE?

A mistake that has already been recognised,

corrected,

forgiven,

and is no longer held onto,

is not the same as a mistake that is still being defended.

⸻

11. THE WORLD IS THE PLACE OF WITNESSING

Allah says:

سَنُرِيهِمْ آيَاتِنَا فِي الْآفَاقِ وَفِي أَنفُسِهِمْ حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ

“We will show them Our signs on the horizons and within themselves until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth.”

— Fuṣṣilat 41:53

Notice:

فِي الْآفَاقِ

on the horizons / in the world.

And:

وَفِي أَنفُسِهِمْ

within themselves.

Then:

حَتَّىٰ يَتَبَيَّنَ لَهُمْ أَنَّهُ الْحَقُّ

“until it becomes clear to them that it is the truth.”

Therefore, the purpose of the signs is:

TO BECOME CLEAR.

Not to remain as mysteries that are merely memorised.

⸻

12. WITNESSING CONNECTS ALL THE CHAPTERS

Now the entire series returns to a single point.

RUH
→ witness the flow of affairs.

ANGELS
→ witness their functions.

UMMĪ
→ witness the original source and the flow of rahmah.

LUH MAHFUZ
→ understand the preserved record.

FETUS
→ the connection begins to activate.

QALB
→ witness the processing of meaning.

LIFE
→ update the profile.

DEATH
→ final sync.

BARZAKH
→ unresolved questions.

MAHSHAR
→ the profile is manifested.

AKHIRAH
→ the profile is experienced.

And finally:

WITNESSING
= KNOWING WHAT IS HAPPENING WITHIN YOURSELF.

⸻

13. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL DEATH TO KNOW

If human beings wait until death to understand:

what the Ruh is,

what the functions of the angels are,

what the qalb is,

what the record is,

what torment is,

what blessing is,

then they have already missed the opportunity to use this world as a place of learning.

The world is given so that human beings may:

SEE BEFORE THEY ARE SHOWN.

UNDERSTAND BEFORE THEY ARE FORCED TO UNDERSTAND.

ANSWER BEFORE THE QUESTION BECOMES A SOURCE OF PRESSURE.

⸻

SUMMARY OF CHAPTER 12

Witnessing is not memorisation.

Witnessing is a journey:

SEE
↓
ASK
↓
EVALUATE
↓
UNDERSTAND
↓
WITNESS
↓
CERTAINTY

Therefore, this entire series can be summarised as:

AMR
↓
ANGELS
↓
RUH
↓
PHYSICAL BODY
↓
SENSES
↓
QALB
↓
ATTRIBUTES
↓
AF‘AL
↓
RECORD
↓
PROFILE
↓
EXPERIENCE

And human beings are asked to see:

ALL OF IT WITHIN THEMSELVES.

That is why the final question is not:

“What do I believe?”

But:

“WHAT HAVE I WITNESSED UNTIL I HAVE BECOME CERTAIN?”

That is the journey from:

ASSUMPTION

to

WITNESSING.
