Allah Does Not Exist — If What You Are Looking for Is a “Thing”

October 1, 2026By SIHULK6 min read

This title is deliberately meant to provoke thought:

ALLAH DOES NOT EXIST.

But do not rush.

The question is:

Does not exist as what?

If what you are searching for is an unseen figure named Allah, an entity sitting somewhere, a “thing” that has some kind of form even while being said to resemble nothing in creation—

then it will indeed NEVER BE FOUND.

Because:

ALLAH IS NOT A THING.

Allah is the DESCRIPTION OF ESSENCE, ATTRIBUTES AND ACTIONS.

⸻

1. WHEN YOU SAY “ALLAH EXISTS”, EXISTS AS WHAT?

People often say:

“Allah exists.”

Then:

“It is impossible for Allah not to exist.”

But before memorising that formula, use reason.

Ask:

EXISTS AS WHAT?

If “exists” turns Allah into an object, a figure or an independently existing entity, then you have already placed Allah within the category of:

شَيْء — a thing.

Yet the Quran states:

لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ

“There is nothing whatsoever like Him.”

— Ash-Shura 42:11

The problem is not with the word exists.

The problem begins when the mind immediately translates exists into:

“THERE EXISTS A FIGURE NAMED ALLAH.”

That is the trap.

⸻

2. “EXISTENCE” AND “NON-EXISTENCE” ARE ALSO DESCRIPTIONS

Notice the consistency.

If we say:

“He is the First, therefore it is impossible for Him to be the Last,”

what happens?

The Quran itself states:

هُوَ الْأَوَّلُ وَالْآخِرُ

“He is the First and the Last.”

— Al-Hadid 57:3

If we say:

“He is the Manifest, therefore it is impossible for Him to be the Hidden,”

the Quran states:

وَالظَّاهِرُ وَالْبَاطِنُ

“The Manifest and the Hidden.”

— Al-Hadid 57:3

Therefore, it is clear:

FIRST does not negate LAST.

MANIFEST does not negate HIDDEN.

Both stand as DESCRIPTIONS OF ATTRIBUTES UPON THE ESSENCE.

That is why pairs of attributes cannot be read mechanically as:

ONE IS TRUE → ITS OPPOSITE IS ABSOLUTELY IMPOSSIBLE.

If that method were correct, Al-Hadid 57:3 itself would appear contradictory.

But the Quran does not contradict itself.

What contradicts is the way we read it.

⸻

3. THIS IS WHERE THE METHOD OF 50 MUST BE UNDERSTOOD THROUGH REASON

The ulama arranged categories of attributes because human beings need to understand:

what belongs to the Essence,

what describes the Essence,

and how those attributes are manifested through Actions.

Therefore, do not turn the Method of 50 into fifty unseen things.

Attributes are not objects.

Attributes are not figures.

Attributes belong to the Essence.

Actions manifest the attributes.

Therefore, the structure is:

ESSENCE

↓

ATTRIBUTES

↓

ACTIONS

The entirety of these descriptions is what is called:

ALLAH

Not another figure that then “possesses” all those attributes.

⸻

4. AN ATTRIBUTE MUST EXIST UPON A PERSON

Take:

trustworthiness.

Where is trustworthiness?

Can you take “trustworthiness” and place it on a table?

No.

Trustworthiness can only be recognised when there is A TRUSTWORTHY PERSON.

The same applies to:

truthfulness, compassion, wisdom, generosity.

All of these are attributes.

Attributes do not stand independently.

Attributes must belong to an ESSENCE/PERSON.

And when those attributes act, there emerge:

ACTIONS.

Therefore, human beings recognise a person through:

HIS ATTRIBUTES AND ACTIONS.

⸻

5. WHERE CAN ALL THESE DESCRIPTIONS BE WITNESSED?

This is where human beings need to stop searching for an unseen figure named Allah.

The Shahadah itself teaches:

أَشْهَدُ

I WITNESS.

Not:

“I imagine.”

Not:

“I heard someone say so.”

Not:

“I have memorised it since childhood.”

But:

I WITNESS.

If Allah is the description of Essence, Attributes and Actions, then those descriptions must have A PERSON UPON WHOM THEY CAN BE WITNESSED.

That person is:

مُحَمَّد ﷺ

Muhammad — the Praiseworthy One.

⸻

6. WHY IS MUHAMMAD ﷺ PRAISEWORTHY?

Because those attributes are complete within him.

When the attributes are complete:

PERFECTION.

When there is perfection:

WORTHY OF PRAISE.

Therefore:

COMPLETE ATTRIBUTES

↓

PERFECTION

↓

PRAISEWORTHY

↓

مُحَمَّد ﷺ

That is why praise is not because he “wants to be praised”.

Praise is THE AFFIRMATION OF WORTHINESS UPON A PERSON WHOSE ATTRIBUTES ARE INDEED PERFECT.

Here we return to:

الْحَمْدُ لِلّٰهِ

Praise is joined with Allah because the description of Essence, Attributes and Actions is upon the person who is indeed worthy of praise.

⸻

7. SEARCH FOR ALLAH AND YOU WILL INDEED NOT FIND HIM

If you search for:

“WHERE IS THE FIGURE OF ALLAH?”

you will indeed not find one.

If you try to imagine:

“WHAT DOES ALLAH LOOK LIKE?”

you have already returned to the category of A THING.

But if you want to WITNESS THE DESCRIPTION OF ALLAH:

seek the person who manifests:

ESSENCE, ATTRIBUTES AND ACTIONS.

That is why the path to knowing Allah does not stop at imagination.

The Quran states:

فَاتَّبِعُونِي يُحْبِبْكُمُ اللَّهُ

“…then follow me, and Allah will love you…”

— Ali ‘Imran 3:31

Notice the direction:

WANT ALLAH → FOLLOW ME.

Why are you directed towards “me”?

Because that “me” can be witnessed.

⸻

8. THE AI ANALOGY

Look at AI.

Can you search for “AI” as a figure?

No.

If you go to a data centre, you find:

SERVERS.

The server is the physical form/bearer.

Running upon that server are:

CAPABILITIES, PROCESSES, ATTRIBUTES AND ACTIONS.

The entirety of those descriptions is what you call:

AI.

AI is not a second figure sitting beside the server.

Likewise:

SERVER → BEARER

AI → DESCRIPTION OF THE SYSTEM

ACTION → ACTIONS

GUI → INTERACTION

Without the server running it, there are no AI actions to be witnessed.

Therefore, if human beings can understand:

AI IS NOT ANOTHER FIGURE BEHIND THE SERVER

why, when Allah is mentioned, do human beings immediately construct an unseen figure behind the universe?

⸻

9. THE SHAHADAH RESOLVES THIS PROBLEM

The Shahadah begins with:

لَا إِلٰهَ

Negation.

Remove ilah.

Remove objects of worship.

Remove imagined figures.

Remove imaginary entities.

Then:

إِلَّا اللهُ

Affirmation.

Affirm:

ALLAH = THE DESCRIPTION OF ESSENCE, ATTRIBUTES AND ACTIONS.

But the Shahadah does not stop there.

It is joined with:

مُحَمَّدٌ رَسُولُ اللهِ

Why?

Because descriptions must have A BEARER WHO CAN BE WITNESSED.

Therefore, the structure of witnessing is:

NEGATION

→ remove ilah

AFFIRMATION

→ affirm Allah

WITNESSING

→ seek the person upon whom the Risalah becomes manifest

MUHAMMAD ﷺ

⸻

10. ALLAH “DOES NOT EXIST” AND ALLAH “EXISTS”

Now we can understand the title correctly.

ALLAH DOES NOT EXIST

if what you mean is:

A FIGURE, OBJECT, ENTITY, BODY OR SOME INDEPENDENT UNSEEN “THING”.

But:

ALLAH EXISTS

as:

THE DESCRIPTION OF ESSENCE, ATTRIBUTES AND ACTIONS THAT CAN BE KNOWN AND WITNESSED THROUGH THE BEARER OF THE RISALAH.

Therefore, “exists” and “does not exist” cannot be thrown around without context.

Otherwise, people will argue over words while continuing to imagine the same figure.

⸻

CONCLUSION

Allah is not a thing.

Allah is not a figure.

Allah is not an object of worship that needs to be imagined.

Allah is:

THE DESCRIPTION OF ESSENCE, ATTRIBUTES AND ACTIONS.

Attributes must belong to the Essence.

Actions manifest the attributes.

Complete attributes demonstrate perfection.

Perfection makes that person:

PRAISEWORTHY.

And that Praiseworthy One is:

مُحَمَّد ﷺ

Therefore:

SEARCH FOR ALLAH AS A FIGURE — YOU WILL INDEED NOT FIND HIM.

SEEK MUHAMMAD ﷺ — AND YOU FIND THE PERSON UPON WHOM ALLAH’S RISALAH CAN BE WITNESSED.

And this is where the Shahadah truly becomes:

WITNESSING

not memorisation.

“ALLAH DOES NOT EXIST” AS A THING.

ALLAH EXISTS AS THE DESCRIPTION OF ESSENCE, ATTRIBUTES AND ACTIONS.

AND THAT DESCRIPTION IS WITNESSED UPON THE PERSON OF MUHAMMAD ﷺ.
