Hijriah Kompang proudly delivered an official kompang performance as part of SiHulk’s community activities, bringing together the vibrant rhythm of traditional Malay percussion and the spirit of togetherness.
Kompang is an important part of Malay cultural heritage, traditionally performed during community gatherings, celebrations, ceremonies and special occasions. Through Hijriah Kompang, this tradition continues to be celebrated and shared within our diverse community in New Zealand.
More than just a musical performance, the activity provides an opportunity for SiHulk members to strengthen teamwork, build friendships and remain connected to Malay cultural traditions while sharing them with the wider community.
Through every beat, Hijriah Kompang represents rhythm, heritage and togetherness — keeping a meaningful cultural tradition alive for current and future generations.
