THE TRUE MEANING OF SENDING SALAWAT UPON HIM ﷺ
What does it truly mean to belong to the Ummah of Muhammad ﷺ?
Is it simply being born into a Muslim family?
Is mentioning his name enough?
Is wearing clothing associated with his era enough?
Is choosing the foods he ate enough?
This chapter brings the question back to one word:
UMMĪ.
Ummī is the ORIGINAL SOURCE.
And if Muhammad ﷺ is the Ummī, then the Ummah consists of those who acknowledge that they are not the original, but must be formed according to the pattern of the original source.
In simple terms:
UMMĪ = ORIGINAL
UMMAH = CLONE / MANIFESTATION
Here, a clone does not mean a copy of the Prophet’s DNA ﷺ.
Not a copy of his face.
Not a copy of his body.
What matters most is:
CLONING THE SELF.
That means shaping one’s entire personal profile according to the pattern of Muhammad ﷺ, the Ummī.
⸻
1. THE UMMĪ IS THE ORIGINAL ARRANGEMENT ITSELF
Muhammad ﷺ, as the Ummī, does not need to search for a manual to shape himself.
He does not need to look at a profile outside himself and say:
“I must become like this.”
Because:
THE UMMĪ IS THE ORIGINAL PROFILE.
THE UMMĪ IS THE ARRANGEMENT ITSELF.
Already manifested through him are:
Actions,
Attributes,
and Essence — the meaning and content of the Risalah.
Therefore, the arrangement within the Ummī is:
BEARER OF THE RISALAH → ACTIONS → ATTRIBUTES → ESSENCE
Human beings first see the bearer.
Then they observe what the bearer does.
Through Actions, Attributes become known.
Through the collection of Attributes, meaning, purpose and content become known.
That is Essence.
⸻
2. FOR THE UMMAH, THE SEQUENCE IS REVERSED
When the Risalah reaches the Ummah, the journey begins with:
ESSENCE → ATTRIBUTES → ACTIONS → BEARER OF THE RISALAH
Meaning is received.
Attributes are developed.
Actions are manifested.
Then human beings themselves become bearers of what they have received.
Therefore, the Ummah is a manifestation of the Ummī’s pattern.
The Ummī does not learn from the Ummah.
The Ummah learns from the Ummī.
The Ummī does not clone the Ummah.
The Ummah clones the Ummī.
⸻
3. ADAM IS THE FIRST HUMAN MODEL — NOT THE SERVER
Adam عليه السلام became the first model of the human form.
Allah states:
“When I have perfected his form and breathed into him of My Ruh.”
— Sad 38:72
Within the reading of this chapter, Adam is the FIRST HUMAN DEVICE.
Model 1.
The children of Adam are subsequent models.
Later generations are the models that follow.
But Adam is not the source of all data.
Adam himself receives.
Adam himself depends upon a source.
Therefore:
ADAM = THE FIRST HUMAN MODEL
Not:
THE SERVER.
⸻
4. THE RUH IS STREAMING DATA
Allah states:
“Say: The Ruh is from the command of my Lord.”
— Al-Isra’ 17:85
Within this chapter’s analogy:
RUH = STREAMING DATA
Streaming does not exist independently.
It depends upon a source.
Therefore, a device cannot claim to be the server.
A manifestation cannot claim to be the source.
And do not separate the physical body from the Ruh as though the body were an independent object into which the Ruh is inserted like a foreign object.
The physical body itself is formed according to data.
⸻
5. THE PHYSICAL BODY IS A MANIFESTATION OF DATA
The human body develops according to instructions.
DNA carries biological information.
Cells read instructions.
Cells form:
eyes,
the heart,
the brain,
bones,
nerves,
blood,
and the entire physical body.
Therefore, within this chapter’s analogy:
DATA → PATTERN → FORM
The physical body is a manifestation.
Not the source.
Human beings are composed of earthly elements, but those elements are shaped according to a script.
Therefore, the great question is:
WHO IS THE “I” THAT CLAIMS TO OWN ALL OF THIS?
⸻
6. THE GREATEST EGO IS THE CLAIM “I EXIST INDEPENDENTLY”
Many people think ego means:
“I am wealthy.”
“I am great.”
“I am intelligent.”
“I am powerful.”
Those are only branches.
The root of ego goes deeper:
“I EXIST BY MYSELF.”
From this claim arise:
“This is my body.”
“This is my knowledge.”
“This is my wealth.”
“This is my strength.”
“This is my success.”
Yet within this chapter’s reading, all of these are manifestations of data.
⸻
7. THE RENTED FERRARI ANALOGY
Imagine someone returning to their hometown in a Ferrari.
People notice him.
He may feel important.
He may show off.
But when he realises:
THE FERRARI IS ONLY RENTED
his entire ego collapses.
The car still moves.
He is still driving.
People still see him.
But the claim of ownership has disappeared.
The same applies to the physical body.
When human beings understand:
THIS SELF DOES NOT BELONG ABSOLUTELY TO ME
the ego does not need to be eliminated piece by piece.
Arrogance does not need to be fought one form at a time.
Showing off does not need to be resisted one act at a time.
The root of them all has been severed.
⸻
8. “KILL YOURSELVES” — KILL THE CLAIM OF INDEPENDENT EXISTENCE
Allah states:
“Repent to your Creator, then kill yourselves.”
— Al-Baqarah 2:54
In the history of the Children of Israel, this verse has a context involving an actual command directed towards them.
Within the symbolic interpretation of this chapter, it becomes an illustration of one principle:
KILL THE CLAIM “I EXIST INDEPENDENTLY.”
Not killing the physical body.
Not injuring oneself.
But denying the claim of ownership.
Until human beings recognise:
I am only earthly elements that have been formed.
I receive streaming.
I receive a script.
I manifest a profile.
⸻
9. AFTER THE “I” IS NEGATED — WHOSE PROFILE IS AFFIRMED?
If the self is not the original, whose profile should be manifested?
The answer is:
MUHAMMAD ﷺ.
Not his physical body.
Not his DNA.
But his entire pattern as the Ummī.
Therefore, the Ummah’s declaration is:
THIS SELF IS FORMED ACCORDING TO THE SCRIPT OF MUHAMMAD ﷺ.
This is the most important form of cloning.
Cloning the self.
⸻
10. THIS IS THE MEANING OF FOLLOWING THE SUNNAH
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
فَعَلَيْكُمْ بِسُنَّتِي وَسُنَّةِ الْخُلَفَاءِ الرَّاشِدِينَ الْمَهْدِيِّينَ
“So hold firmly to my Sunnah and the Sunnah of the rightly guided caliphs.”
— Sunan Abi Dawud no. 4607; Jami‘ al-Tirmidhi no. 2676
And he said:
“Whoever turns away from my Sunnah is not of me.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari no. 5063; Sahih Muslim no. 1401
Notice:
“He is not of me.”
Sunnah is not a costume.
Sunnah is not only clothing.
Sunnah is not only food.
Sunnah is:
THE PATTERN OF THE UMMĪ’S SELF.
Therefore, whoever turns away from the pattern of the Ummī no longer demonstrates themselves as a clone of that original source.
⸻
11. “FOLLOW ME”
Allah states:
“Say: If you love Allah, then follow me, and Allah will love you.”
— Ali ‘Imran 3:31
Notice:
FOLLOW ME.
The verse points towards the bearer.
Not only towards one fragment of practice.
Allah also states:
“Indeed, in the Messenger of Allah you have an excellent example.”
— Al-Ahzab 33:21
That pattern exists:
WITHIN THE MESSENGER OF ALLAH.
Therefore, the Ummah does not need to create a new original.
The original already exists.
⸻
12. OBEY ALLAH AND OBEY THE MESSENGER
Allah states:
“Obey Allah and obey the Messenger.”
— An-Nisa’ 4:59
Then:
“Whoever obeys the Messenger has indeed obeyed Allah.”
— An-Nisa’ 4:80
Within this chapter’s reading, do not turn the word وَ — “and” — into two independent sources.
Allah is the description of the Risalah.
Muhammad ﷺ is the bearer of the Risalah.
Therefore, obeying the bearer means obeying the Risalah he carries.
The Risalah does not move independently.
The Risalah is carried.
⸻
13. THE DIRECTOR STEPS ONTO THE STAGE TO ACT
This is where the analogy of the director becomes clear.
The director steps onto the stage.
He wears a costume.
He speaks like an actor.
He eats like an actor.
He walks like an actor.
But:
DO NOT BE DECEIVED BY THE DIRECTOR’S PERFORMANCE.
The director’s performance is not the same as the director’s underlying reality.
Muhammad ﷺ was present among humanity so that the pattern could be witnessed.
⸻
14. شَاهِدًا — TO BE WITNESSED
Allah states:
— Al-Ahzab 33:45
Within this chapter’s reading:
شَاهِدًا = HE IS TO BE WITNESSED.
Through him, human beings witness:
Actions,
through Actions they recognise Attributes,
through Attributes they recognise Essence.
That is why the bearer must be present.
⸻
A WARNING AGAINST FAILING TO RECOGNISE THE UMMĪ
A warning is not only about tsunamis or disasters.
The greater warning is:
DO NOT FAIL TO RECOGNISE THE BEARER.
Do not view Muhammad ﷺ only as a historical human being.
Do not see the figure while failing to recognise the Risalah.
Do not claim to belong to the Ummah while cloning another profile.
⸻
A LIGHT FOR THE ENTIRE REALM
Allah describes him as:
وَسِرَاجًا مُّنِيرًا
“An illuminating lamp.”
— Al-Ahzab 33:46
Within this chapter’s reading, that light illuminates every manifestation.
Without light, something may exist, but its direction and meaning remain unrecognised.
Through the light of the Ummī, the Ummah can recognise:
Essence,
Attributes,
Actions,
and the arrangement of the profile.
⸻
17. SALAWAT = HONOURING THE UMMĪ ABOVE THE UMMAH
Allah states:
— Al-Ahzab 33:56
Within this chapter’s reading:
عَلَى النَّبِيِّ
means that the Prophet is honoured “above”.
Therefore, Salawat is the acknowledgement:
THE UMMĪ ABOVE THE UMMAH.
THE ORIGINAL ABOVE THE CLONE.
THE SOURCE ABOVE THE MANIFESTATION.
When one says:
it becomes an acknowledgement:
MUHAMMAD ﷺ IS THE ORIGINAL SOURCE OF MY PROFILE.
⸻
18. ALL CREATION IS A MANIFESTATION OF THE SCRIPT
Within this chapter’s framework, streaming does not occur only in human beings.
All creation receives according to its form:
jinn,
human beings,
animals,
plants,
cells,
atoms.
All are devices manifesting data according to their respective capacities.
Therefore, the expression:
“ALL CREATION IS MUHAMMAD”
within this chapter does not mean that every object is the person of Prophet Muhammad ﷺ.
It means:
ALL CREATION IS A MANIFESTATION OF THE UMMĪ SCRIPT.
Different forms.
Different capacities.
Different manifestations.
One source.
⸻
19. HUMAN BEINGS ARE THE MOST CAPABLE DEVICES
Allah states:
“Indeed, We created human beings in the best form.”
— At-Tin 95:4
Human beings possess an extensive capacity to:
receive,
understand,
choose,
arrange,
and develop a profile.
That is why human beings can perceive the entire arrangement of attributes within the limits of created beings.
But human beings never become the source.
⸻
20. 100 IN THE UMMĪ — 99 IN THE UMMAH
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ spoke of one hundred portions of mercy, of which one portion is manifested among jinn, human beings, animals and other creatures, while ninety-nine are associated with mercy on the Day of Qiyamah.
— Sahih Muslim no. 2752c
Within this chapter’s conceptual reading, do not interpret this as a physical storage facility:
one portion goes out,
ninety-nine enter a warehouse.
There is no data warehouse.
Streaming always depends upon the source.
Within this chapter’s arrangement:
UMMĪ = 100
meaning the complete source.
Whereas the Ummah can never become 100.
If a device becomes 100 like the server, the distinction between source and manifestation disappears.
Therefore:
UMMAH = 99
not because data has been lost,
but because the Ummah never becomes the Ummī.
⸻
21. THE 99 NAMES = PROFILE ARCHITECTURE
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
إِنَّ لِلَّهِ تِسْعَةً وَتِسْعِينَ اسْمًا، مِائَةً إِلَّا وَاحِدًا، مَنْ أَحْصَاهَا دَخَلَ الْجَنَّةَ
“Indeed, Allah has ninety-nine names, one hundred minus one. Whoever encompasses them will enter Paradise.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari no. 7392
Within this chapter’s reading, the 99 Names are:
PROFILE ARCHITECTURE.
Not a collection of names.
Not memorisation without arrangement.
Human beings need to know:
what comes first,
what comes next,
what forms the foundation,
and what completes the arrangement.
⸻
22. AR-RAHMAN ABOVE — AS-SABUR BELOW
Within this chapter’s working arrangement:
AR-RAHMAN
is at the top.
Then:
AR-RAHIM
followed by:
AL-MALIK
and so on.
Finally:
AS-SABUR
as the conclusion.
Mercy leads.
Patience completes.
Strength has its place.
Punishment has its place.
Firmness has its place.
But do not reverse the arrangement.
⸻
23. THE GIVER OF MERCY IS ALSO THE GIVER OF PUNISHMENT
Allah states:
— Al-Hijr 15:49–50
There is mercy.
There is punishment.
But mercy surpasses wrath.
Therefore, do not remove the attribute of punishment in the name of morality.
And do not place punishment above mercy.
⸻
24. RELIGION IS NOT MORALITY — MORALITY IS NOT RELIGION
Religion is not measured by:
“This is gentle, therefore it is good.”
“This is harsh, therefore it is bad.”
Religion demands:
JUSTICE.
That means:
PLACING EVERY ATTRIBUTE IN ITS PROPER POSITION.
Mercy where mercy belongs.
Punishment where punishment belongs.
Firmness where firmness belongs.
Forgiveness where forgiveness belongs.
Patience where patience belongs.
The Ummah cannot edit the Ummī’s script according to its own preferred morality.
⸻
25. ARROGANCE IS ALSO DATA — THE PROBLEM IS THE CLAIM OF OWNERSHIP
Many try to eliminate arrogance.
Many try to eliminate ego.
Many try to stop showing off.
But these attributes do not disappear simply by fighting them, because they are among the possibilities within the data that may become manifest.
What must be understood is:
WHO OWNS THEM?
If someone stands firmly for the truth, that firmness may be appropriate.
But if someone says:
“This truth belongs to me.”
“This power belongs to me.”
“This greatness belongs to me.”
then they have claimed something that does not belong to them.
The greatest arrogance is the claim of independent existence and ownership of the self.
⸻
26. ARRANGING THE 99 IS LIKE BUILDING A HOUSE
Imagine a house requiring 99 steps to build.
What should come first?
Level the ground?
Lay the foundation?
Mix the cement?
Lay the bricks?
Install the roof?
Or immediately lie down on the bed?
Every step may be correct.
But:
WHAT IS CORRECT WITHOUT THE PROPER SEQUENCE CAN BECOME WRONG.
The same applies to the 99 Attributes.
All human beings have the opportunity to perceive the 99.
But each person arranges them according to their own priorities.
Some place power first.
Some place anger first.
Some place wealth first.
Some place Ar-Rahman first.
That arrangement shapes the profile.
⸻
27. THE PROPHET ﷺ DOES NOT NEED TO ARRANGE HIS OWN SELF
Muhammad ﷺ, as the Ummī, does not sit down arranging:
“Rahman first.”
“Rahim after that.”
“Malik after that.”
He himself is:
THE ORIGINAL ARRANGEMENT.
Therefore, the Ummah’s task is:
CLONE THE UMMĪ’S ARCHITECTURE.
Not ask the Ummī to follow something outside himself.
The Ummī is the manual.
The Ummī is the pattern.
The Ummī is the completed model house.
⸻
28. THE WORLD IS THE PLACE TO NURTURE THE TREE
Human beings are given one journey.
In this world, life is like a tree.
The tree must be:
cared for,
fertilised,
watered,
shaped,
until it bears fruit.
The fruit produces:
SEEDS.
Those seeds represent the final profile that is carried forward.
⸻
29. THE SEED IS FORMED ONLY ONCE
This chapter does not present a concept of reincarnation.
Human beings are not given repeated lives to form their seeds over and over again.
Their journey passes through only SEVEN REALMS:
1. The Realm of Ruh
2. The Realm of the Father’s Seed
3. The Realm of the Mother’s Womb
4. The Worldly Realm
5. The Realm of Barzakh
6. The Realm of Mahshar
7. The Realm of the Akhirah
One journey.
One formation of the profile.
One seed.
⸻
30. THE AKHIRAH IS WHERE THE SEED IS PLANTED
The world is where the tree is nurtured.
The profile is the result of its development.
The seed is the final result of the profile.
The Akhirah is:
THE PLACE WHERE THAT SEED IS PLANTED.
Not a place where formation begins again from the start.
What is planted depends upon the arrangement of the profile that has already been formed.
⸻
31. ALL HUMAN BEINGS RECEIVE THE 99 — THE ARRANGEMENT MAKES THE DIFFERENCE
The question is not:
“Who possesses mercy?”
“Who possesses power?”
“Who possesses patience?”
Everyone has the capacity for these attributes.
What distinguishes them is:
PRIORITY.
What belongs at the top.
What belongs in the middle.
What belongs at the bottom.
That is why the Ummah needs the Ummī.
So that human beings do not invent their own arrangement.
⸻
32. THE INTERCESSION OF THE PROPHET ﷺ AND THE UMMĪ–UMMAH RELATIONSHIP
Human beings may still be negligent.
They may make mistakes.
They may go astray.
This is where intercession has its place.
Allah states:
“Who can intercede with Him except by His permission?”
— Al-Baqarah 2:255
Therefore, the Prophet ﷺ intercedes by permission.
Within the Ummī–Ummah pattern, intercession is the mercy of the original source towards the Ummah, which still has shortcomings.
It is not a licence to corrupt the profile.
⸻
33. THE SUNNAH OF THE CALIPHS — CONTINUITY OF THE PATTERN
The Hadith mentions:
“And the Sunnah of the rightly guided caliphs.”
Within this chapter’s reading, this shows that the Ummī’s pattern does not remain confined to historical archives.
There are successors.
There are bearers.
There is continuity of the Risalah.
Not new Prophets.
But members of the Ummah who carry the Ummī’s pattern to subsequent generations.
⸻
34. LOVE FOR THE PROPHET ﷺ SURPASSES LOVE FOR THE SELF
The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said:
لَا يُؤْمِنُ أَحَدُكُمْ حَتَّى أَكُونَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيْهِ مِنْ وَالِدِهِ وَوَلَدِهِ وَالنَّاسِ أَجْمَعِينَ
“None of you truly believes until I am more beloved to him than his father, his child and all humanity.”
— Sahih al-Bukhari no. 15
Within this chapter, love for the Ummī surpasses love for one’s false self-profile.
Not because human beings must hate themselves.
But because the self is not the original.
⸻
35. THE GREAT SUMMARY
This chapter can ultimately be summarised in one framework:
UMMĪ = SOURCE / ORIGINAL
UMMAH = CLONE / MANIFESTATION
RUH = STREAMING DATA
PHYSICAL BODY = FORM PRODUCED BY THE SCRIPT
ADAM = THE FIRST HUMAN MODEL
MUHAMMAD ﷺ = UMMĪ / ORIGINAL PROFILE
SUNNAH = THE MOVEMENT OF THE ORIGINAL PROFILE
SALAWAT = HONOURING THE UMMĪ ABOVE THE UMMAH
99 NAMES = PROFILE ARCHITECTURE
WORLD = THE PLACE TO NURTURE THE TREE
PROFILE = FRUIT
SEED = THE FINAL RESULT OF THE PROFILE
AKHIRAH = THE PLACE WHERE THE SEED IS PLANTED
And most importantly:
THE UMMĪ DOES NOT FOLLOW THE PATTERN.
THE UMMĪ IS THE PATTERN.
It is the Ummah that must follow.
It is the Ummah that must arrange.
It is the Ummah that must clone.
It is the Ummah that must recognise:
I AM NOT THE ORIGINAL.
I AM NOT THE ABSOLUTE OWNER.
I AM ONLY A MANIFESTATION.
Therefore, when someone declares:
“I BELONG TO THE UMMAH OF MUHAMMAD ﷺ.”
they are actually acknowledging:
“MUHAMMAD ﷺ IS MY UMMĪ, AND THIS SELF MUST BE FORMED ACCORDING TO HIS PATTERN.”
That is the living Sunnah.
That is the living Salawat.
That is the Ummah that recognises its original source.
